Colloidal Silver for Acne

Colloidal silver has been a popular option for helping to deal with acne, but there's a much better alternative that's also much more effective called structured silver water.

Structured silver water is a much more advanced silver than colloidal silver and is safer to use for acne, rashes and skin blemishes and also well known for it's overall well-being for curing bad bacteria in the gut of which many times can lead to the issues with skin.

Structured silver is known for destroying many of these types of bacteria including viruses, fungus, yeast and other harmful pathogens.

Watch the video below to hear martial arts champion Rigan Machado talk about the effects of structured silver on the body.

History has shown that using colloidal silver for acne can cause a build-up of silver in your body which can lead to health conditions.  Structured silver water does not have this same effect and does not build up in the body but rather passes through once it's done its job.

New technology has recently discovered that structured silver water can even kill 99.9% of harmful bacteria including staph infection, e-coli, salmonella, and strep throat within 5 minutes (watch the video on this page for proof).

Here's what Dr. Woods said about structured silver:

“My patients used silver for their ear, eye, sinus, and throat infections and were shocked by how quickly they felt better. They also used structured silver as a topical gel for their acne, nail fungus, psoriasis, and eczema, and were startled by how quickly their skin cleared up

And most importantly, my patients used silver for their inflamed guts, and were thrilled when they saw noticeable improvements to their health.”

How to Get Rid of Acne With Essential Oils

Most people use essential oils for the benefit of their minds, but did you know that they're also extremely useful for your skin? Yes, literally, your skin.

You can eliminate acne and keep your skin blemish free by using essential oils. Your skin reacts to a lot of things, changes in the environment, stress, and oil build up, among others.

Using Essential Oils Topically For Acne

Applying essential oils directly to your skin can help change that. No longer do you need to use medication just to solve your acne problems. With essential oils, you can clear your skin of acne the natural way and without any side effects.

Don't worry. Essential oils are not other types of oil. They will not clog your pores because they are not greasy. In fact, their effect is quite the opposite. The main reason why essential oils are great for acne is because they help unclog your pores and remove any buildup.

There's a huge chance that you're probably already using essential oils. You might not just know it yet. Manufacturers of cosmetics and beauty products often use small traces of essential oils as ingredients for their products. You can check the back of the products you're using if you want. But still, nothing beats the original. There are a lot of benefits to be had for using essential oils as part of your beauty routine.

You can dissolve essential oils in cream or oil and use it as a natural moisturizer. Just a few small drops are great against breakouts of acne. Using the oil brings oxygen and various essential nutrients to your skin to rid it of any blemishes.

Below, you'll find some of the most popular essential oils used to fight off acne.

Clary Sage

Extracted from plants that have plenty of similarities to our hormones, Clary Sage is an excellent cure for acne that was brought by hormonal imbalance. It can act as a neutralizer that helps balances out the user's hormones to cure breakouts and prevent them from happening.

Unlike clary sage, eucalyptus is much more effective against blackheads. Its cleansing effect makes it extremely effective in removing dirt and oil buildup to leave your skin clear.

The all-purpose essential oil, Lavender is good, not just for acne treatment, but also for improving your mood and relieving stress. This combination of benefits makes lavender extremely good because when you're not as stressed and anxious, acne will not show up as much on your skin.

Use lemon essential oil to restore the natural balance of your skin and refresh your mental health. A few drops can help clear up acne outbreaks and continued use can keep your skin blemish-free. Just try not to go out in the sun too much after using lemon, though, or else you risk some slight skin discoloration.

You've probably read about myrrh as an essential oil used by ancient people to treat sores and scares. Well, apparently, because of its anti-bacterial properties, it's just as effective against recurring acne breakouts and rashes.

Patchouly essential oil is essential a cure-all for all kinds of skin maladies. Acne breakouts? Don't worry. patchouly is good for it. Have rashes? Just apply some patchouly to it. It's even good for light wounds and scarring.

The best part? It smells so good that you'll feel calmer the moment it's applied to you.  Want an alternative method for healing acne fast?  Read this post on using colloidal silver for acne.

Managing Stress With Essential Oils

It's not easy to reduce stress. It's probably one of the hardest things to do, especially since we all have to deal with stressful situations on a daily basis. But it's an important life skill to have, knowing how to deal with stress.

If we stress get the best of us, we can easily find ourselves suffering from all sorts of illnesses, many of which could've easily been preventable. Essential oils used in aromatherapy are excellent for reducing stress levels so you'll have more pep in your proverbial step every day.

Stress can kill. It doesn't matter how old or young you are. Stress can and will kill you if you let it. This is why it's important to keep stress under control, which is something that essential oils can help you with.

Even if only for a while, the number of health benefits is enough to make you want to give aromatherapy a try. It is non-invasive, after all, and is one of the best ways to help you relax your mind and sleep better at night.

What Essential Oils Should I Use?

Using essential oils are a great way to help you keep your emotions in check, especially when you feel drained. You can even use it at work to give you some much-needed mid-day boost. After all, your office is probably where you get most of your stress anyway.

So, it's only natural that you should use essential oils to try and offset that stress with some positivity. Office aromatherapy could be the key to re-energizing your body without you necessarily having to take time to rest and relax in a conventional sense.

Even at home, essential oils are extremely useful. Keeping a house clean and well-maintained isn't easy work. It's tough, probably even tougher than most office jobs. And because essential oils are safe for children, you can use it and its aroma to give yourself a chance to relax as you go about your daily chores.

There are plenty of aromatherapy essential oils on the market that you can use to reduce your stress levels. Individually, the said essential oils are great.

You can just buy one container and be done with it. But essential oils like Basil, Juniper Berry, and Geranium, though potent enough on their own, are best used together. The same goes for Chamomile Maroc, Lavender French, and Sandalwood Agmark.

To clear your mind, body, and spirit from strength, use Basil. This essential oil has been used since ancient times to provide tranquility to those who need a break from their daily lives. Using basil can help give you back the strength that you felt that you lost long ago, allowing you tackle the day better and still have the mindful awareness to keep your emotions in check regardless of how stressful your day has been.

Juniper Berry

Most people don't like the strong scent, which is okay. To each their own, as they say. But, for those who are not allergic to juniper berry and like its smell, the fragrance is heaven-sent after a long day at work. All of those aching muscles and joints will suddenly feel better with just a whiff of this essential oil.

When life has got you down, geranium can help you get back up. The nurturing fragrance can make it feel like you have no problem in the world, that the world is actually such a good place. Though a perfect world with no problems is only wishful thinking, geranium is like a wish granted for those whose emotions are already spiraling out of control.

When it comes to essential oils, you can always use them on their own. So long as used properly, basil, juniper berry, and geranium are all capable of giving your body a chance to heal from all the damage stress has brought upon it. But, for best results, it's always a good idea to use essential oils in combination with each other. Feel free to mix and match as you please. Regardless of what you use, you'll notice how much better you'll feel in just a few short days anyway. What's important is that you use essential oils, both at home and in the office, to bring in some positive into your stress-riddled life.

Healing Your Mind of Emotional Stress

The amount of stress we're forced to deal with every day can be too much at times. If we are overwhelmed by stress too often, it can cripple us, fracture our emotional health, and harm us both physically and mentally. Some turn to drugs and harmful substances to try and cope. But they never really work, at least, not without any side effects. If you're really keen on fighting stress without sacrificing your health, then we're going to share with you two of our favorite essential oils for dealing with emotional stress.

Stess Can Cause Low Self-Esteem and Depression

Your emotional state suffers from the amount of stress built up from your daily life. This can sometimes lead to low self-esteem and in worse cases, depression. The former can make you feel inadequate, like you're not enough to be the right guy for the job or to be the right spouse for your wife or husband.

Even worse, your children can pick up on your low self-esteem and they might suffer from the same issue down the line. Put simply, too much stress isn't good for you, both mentally and physically, and can damage your relationship with your friends and family.

Fortunately, you can improve your self-esteem using aromatherapy. Using essential oils at home or in the office is a great way to improve your mood and get rid of all the negativity in the air. The better and more positive you'll feel, the more confident you can be, which will help make your self-esteem issues a thing of the past.

At home, you can use essential oils to dispel all of your negativity from work. When you just need a few moments to shut out all the deadlines and schedules, you can use essential oils to help give you back control of your emotions and improve your self-esteem. Essential oils can become your much-needed weapon in your fight against low self-esteem.

Best Aromatherapy Oils For Emotional Stress

You can use the following essential oils for aromatherapy on their own, but it's always best to use them together. Just a few drops into your burner of choice is enough to make you feel the benefits, ranging from improved mood to better self-confidence, among many other things. Sandalwood Agmark and Ylang Ylang are two of the most common essential oils as a way to balance out negative emotions and improve mood.

Sandalwood Agmark

Treat your mind and body to a soothing experience using sandalwood agmark essential oil. The woody fragrance will make you feel like you're in the middle of a tranquil forest, one where there's only you and you alone. By giving yourself a much-needed mental retreat, you can “come back” much more energized and with much higher self-esteem than ever before.

Ylang Ylang

A more sensual take on stress relief, ylang ylang is great when you're feeling overwhelmed by all of your negative emotions. A few drops of ylang ylang oil will help you stay more positive amidst the harshness of life. Also, you can use ylang ylang essential oil when making love and romancing your spouse or partner.

Everyone deserves to live a life free of negativity. Using aromatherapy can help make you see just how much you're worth as a person. You can use them as mood enhancers to help you become more productive at work and become a better father or husband at home.

Your self-esteem isn't the only one benefiting from your use of essential oils. Your body, in general, will feel better because of it. With very little stress left, your body can relax as it pleases so you can finally start living a more positive life, one where you're not perpetually tired or stressed.

Fight Loneliness with Essential Oils

It's ironic that the human population is at its peak today and yet it's so easy to feel loneliness. And when it hits you, loneliness can spiral out of control, making you suffer from issues like social anxiety, stress, and even depression.

If you're suffering from loneliness, know that it doesn't have to stay. You can fight back against loneliness using many methods, including essential oils in aromatherapy.

If not acted on immediately, loneliness can take over your whole life. It can make you withdraw from everyone you know and love and it can make you feel depressed. When that happens, you become a bad hire. Employers will not want to work with you. Your job right now will be in jeopardy, if it already is not. But, don't worry. Aromatherapy with essential oils can help fix that.

The internet is the main culprit why it's so easy for people to become introverted and lonely as a result. Even worse, people are taught at an early age to hold in their emotions. While it's an integral part of acting as a professional, holding in emotions too much is not healthy. It can result in depression, among many other things.

Using essential oils can help give you a means of release for such feelings, and at the very least, give you a chance to relax.

Majoram Sweet and Rosemary are two of the most powerful essential oils in aromatherapy used to battle against loneliness and help users fight back against the crippling effects of depression in their lives.

Each one is potent enough already, but for best results, both have to be used together. You can use them either in the office or at home, but preferably both so it doesn’t take long to relieve yourself of all that unnecessary stress, worry, and loneliness.

Marjoram Sweet

Give yourself a sense of comfort and soothe your anxiety by using a few drops of Marjoram Sweet at night or during the day at the office. For years, this herb has been used in herbal medicine and sometimes in food.

It's believed to be a mood enhancer and has been shown to curb loneliness, as well as depression. The warm and sweet fragrance is also extremely useful for muscle and joint aches accumulated from a long day at work.

You're probably not ignorant of the many benefits of using rosemary. You probably use it on some of your dishes. But did you know that it's also useful against loneliness? A few drops of rosemary essential oil will be great for your memory and help you remember all the good times in the middle of all the ups and downs brought upon by the daily stresses of life that can lead to feelings of anxiety, loneliness, and depression.

Just like marjoram sweet, you can use rosemary to make your tired and aching muscles feel a few years younger. Your emotions will thank you for using these essential oils, especially if you use them together.

Don't let loneliness win. Fight against it. Sure, it's not easy. It can feel like an uphill battle at times and there are days when you feel like just giving up. But don't. Instead, use these essential oils are your weapon of choice at your home and office. Your life will be all the better for it.

Essential Oils for Effective Relaxation

It's important to be able to sit back and relax at least just a couple of minutes every day. However, with all that's happening to our lives, from work to spending time with our respective families and other daily tasks, it's quite easy to ignore our personal need for some rest and relaxation. But without dedicating enough time to resting our minds and bodies, we won't be able to refresh our energy.

Experience Natural Relaxation

This is where these essential oils for relaxation come in. They help induce a state of calmness that, even if only for a moment, help you forget all of the stresses of daily life. Mind you, you don't always need to fall asleep to relax. Even just a few minutes spent meditating to give your mind some peace and quiet is relaxing enough as it is.

Such moments are important for your health. Dedicating frequent and brief states of relaxation can help make you feel less tired and do away with all of those sleepless nights.
You probably already have a tight schedule already. If you're a parent, you have work, your house and your children to worry about. Using essential oils can help make you feel a little bit better and make it less likely for you become too angry because of stress. These essential oils are just perfect to unwind and just let loose.

Did you know that you can use aromatherapy and these essential oils in your office? Because the goal of using essential oils in aromatherapy is to relax and calm your mind and not make you feel tired, they can be of huge help in your office.

You'll feel calmer all throughout the day and won't feel as stressed as before. This is especially true during the busier days of the moment where you're dealing with deadlines left and right for days if not weeks on end.

There are several types of essential oils that you can use both in the office or at home. You can use ylang ylang, chamomile, and neroli, all of which can help you feel relaxed without necessarily tiring you out. Each of these essential oils carries their own benefits. Combining them will result in a powerful concoction of aromatherapy that will make you feel like you are in heaven.

Ylang Ylang

A romantic aroma perfect for when you want to cuddle with your spouse or partner at night, Ylang Ylang is also excellent for relaxing your body and spirit.

Chamomile Maroc

You've probably heard of Chamomile Maroc before. It's one of the most popular scents used in aromatherapy. It is extremely effective for making you feel relaxed after a long day at work. If you have difficulty managing your anger, you should consider using chamomile to help mellow you out.

Distilled from the blossoms of bitter orange trees, neroli can relax, calm and rejuvenate you. Its relaxing effects can also penetrate deep enough into your emotions. Using the fragrance can relieve you of stress, anger, and irritability, making it a great essential oil of choice for the office.

Individually, these oils are effective as is. Combined, they'll make you feel better, calmer, and more positive in life. This essential oil will make you feel more productive, regardless of your job.

You can take the relaxing effects of these oils up a notch by using it in combination with other oils with similar effects to further improve the quality of your life.

Using Essential Oils For a Good Nights Sleep

A good night's sleep is easily the best thing you can do for your body and mind. Lack of sleep can cause you to lose energy and lead to plenty of health issues down the line. Not to mention the noted increase in stress levels, which will make it more difficult for you to go through your daily routine.

One thing that has been proven to help with this is aromatherapy; using essential oils has been shown to make it easier to sleep, therefore making users feel refreshed when they wake up in the morning.

Lack Of Sleep Causes Stress

Your day to day tasks will no doubt cause stress to build up. Too much stress can throw your sleep off. This will lead to disturbed sleep at night, more stress, and eventually, health issues. With essential oils and aromatherapy, you can drastically improve the quality of your sleep. By doing so, you can prevent stress and poor sleeping habits from damaging both your mind and body.

People have different preferences when it comes to sleep. Some feel that quantity is more important, while others feel that quality has more impact. The latter is correct, in a way. Because it doesn't matter if you get eight hours of sleep at night. Though you'll still feel better than getting no sleep at all, ideally you'll want at least six hours of quality sleep, which is a lot better for the human body than even ten hours of low quality sleep.

Recommended Essential Oils For Sleep

Using essential oils can help your body relax and fall into a deep slumber where you can fully recharge your body's batteries for the day ahead. Use it once and you'll feel the difference immediately as you wake up; you'll feel a lot better as your body and mind will be much healthier because of then improved quality of your sleep at night.

Essential oils come in many different forms, but only some are the best for sleep: Bergamot, Sage, and Sandalwood. Each one carries its own set of benefits and combining all three is recommended for optimal effect.

Bergamot is made out of peelings from an exotic fruit. It smells citrusy, which helps make you feel calm and happy. To further improve the effect of bergamot on the quality of your sleep, it's best to blend it with other essential oils.

Clary Sage
If you're feeling restless from the stress of daily life and you're feeling overly emotional, then clary sage should be your go-to oil. This type of essential oil was distilled from a plant known for its aromatic, stress-relieving smell. The smell alone can help drastically improve how well you feel. In fact, after a full day of exposure, you'll feel like you're ready to face whatever the world has to throw at you.

Sandalwood Agmark
Are you feeling like you're carrying the weight of the entire world on your shoulders? Do you feel stressed and tired? Do you just want to get some peaceful rest for some reason? Sandalwood Agmark will give you that. This essential oil will fight off all of your negative emotions so you'll have nothing but the most pleasant dreams as you sleep at night. The smell of Sandalwood is perfect for peace of mind.

Each of these essential oils have their own distinct benefit. However, they are at their best when you use them together. Of course, feel free to use them separately. You'll still feel better than when you didn't. But, for the ultimate relaxing experience, always use these three in combination.

You'll feel the most refreshed you have in years after sleeping in with these essential oils filling the scene of your bedroom.

Here’s 5 Uses For Rose Essential Oil

In this article, I want to talk a little about Rose essential oil and some benefits of using it.

The rose is one of our most recognized flowers with a rich fragrance that has perfumed human history for centuries. From the ancient gardens of Persia where it was believed to be first cultivated to extravagant Roman banquets, the rose has symbolized love, passion, innocence, sympathy, desire and luxury.

Rose can help with both mental and physical ailments and so it's a good idea to keep it on hand. It is one of the more expensive oils, so be careful to get it from a reputable source in order to get its real benefits.

5 Ways To Use Rose Essential Oil

1. Relieving Depression
Rose essential oil has both mental and physical benefits, but let’s start with the mental and emotional benefits. It is a really good oil when you suffer from depression, whether it is related to bipolar depression, situational depression, or chronic depression. You can relax and really center your mind by using rose essential oil for aromatherapy.

2. Treating Your Wounds
As far as physical benefits, the first one is to use rose essential oil for your minor wounds. You don’t want to use oils with severe cuts, but with minor burns and scrapes, it can be very relieving. Similar to chamomile and lavender, rose essential oil has soothing properties. It won’t heal the wounds, but it can definitely help relieve inflammation and pain.

3. Improving Your Skin
Rose essential oil also happens to be wonderful for your skin condition. If you have mild or moderate acne, try using rose water with water and rose essential oil, with a small amount of carrier oil, and apply it to your skin. Of course, if you have oily skin, you might want to be careful with how much oil is being used. It can help with skin conditions like rosacea and dermatitis as well.

4. Treating Constipation
If you are struggling with digestive issues or constipation, you can relieve it with rose essential oil. In this case, ingestion is going to help you the best. Make a cup of tea with some chamomile and rose oil or herbs, and you will be able to use it as a natural laxative that is very soothing and easy on your stomach. You can use this for digestive issues like IBS as well.

5. Increasing Hormonal Health
Lastly, consider using rose essential oil to help with your hormonal health. It can help skin, relieve PMS symptoms, improve your libido, and help to balance out your hormonal levels. This works as something you ingest, or when using the oil as an aromatherapy oil like with an oil diffuser.

Consider other oils you can combine with rose essential oil for maximum health benefits, whether using it physically or for emotional ailments you are suffering from.

Rose can be a very expensive essential oil, so look around first before buying.

Essential Oils For Colds and Boosting Immune System

Using Essential Oils to Help Prevent Colds

The benefits of aromatherapy for the immune system are well-documented, and we're sharing the blends to keep you and your family safe through cold season here.

One of our most recommended oil blends is PROTECT Immunity Blend.  This blend contains Clove (Syzygium aromaticum L.), Lemon (Citrus limonum), Cinnamon Bark Ceylon (Cinnamomum zeylanicum), Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus globulus), and Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis).

As we approach the colder months, we all begin to think about cold season. The sniffles, the sneezes, the days off of work or school. Colds can even affect vacations and holidays.

essential oils for coldsOn average, adults get 2-3 colds every year. Kids get even more. And with an average of 7-10 days for recovery time, you can bet that a cold will be a nuisance for you and your family sometime in the next year.

There is certainly proven (if generic) advice out there on how to prevent colds: wash your hands frequently, avoid touching your face and stay away from sick people. But since most people are contagious up to a day before they begin to show symptoms, even these recommendations can only help so much.

At this point, you're probably wondering if there isn't more that you can do to help keep your family well. As the saying goes, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

The good news is there are a number of essential oils that can help support and boost your immune system. And there are even more aromatherapy treatments that can help reduce stress and promote healthy sleep, so your body can do more to keep you well.

How do Essential Oils Help Your Immune System?

lemon essential oil for immune systemEssential oils have been used for thousands of years. From insect repellent to relaxation, there are hundreds of ways these botanicals can help us.

But how, exactly, do they help prevent illness?

Essential oils help in two ways. First, they help in prevention by keeping the causes of illness from getting into your system. The second way is they help is by making your immune system operate more efficiently.

The oils work in a number of ways to directly prevent illness. Many essential oils used in aromatherapy have antiviral, antiseptic and antibacterial properties, helping to kill off the germs that cause illness to begin with.

They also help your body to help itself. Not only can they help to improve circulation, but some (like lemon) can boost the production of white blood cells.

How do I Use Essential Oils for My Family?

There are a number of ways in which you can apply and use essential oils for yourself and your family.

One of the most common ways of using essential oils is through inhalation, thus aromatherapy. The quickest and easiest way to inhale oils is to put a few drops on a tissue and place it near your nose and mouth, being sure to not actually touch your face with the tissue.

Another method is to use a diffuser. There are a number of different kinds of diffusers available on the market, and these can be placed in various parts of your home or office. Concentrate on the essential features of the diffuser to be sure that you are getting a cost effective and useful piece of aromatherapy equipment.

While diffusers are great if you sit in one place all day. But many of us move around a lot, especially kids as they go about their school day. This is where diffuser jewelry can be useful. By using a necklace or bracelet, you are able to take your aromatherapy with you, wherever you go throughout your day. And with a range of attractive options, it's easy to incorporate the jewelry into your everyday attire.

There are different kinds of diffusers used for jewelry, including terra cotta pieces that absorb the oils into the clay, and locket type jewelry that hold a small felt piece that the oils are placed on. While the terra cotta options may be cost effective and even fun to make, they can be difficult if you want to change the oils that you are using.

If you plan on using different aromatherapy oils at different times, consider a piece that allows you to switch out the felt pad to avoid mixing oils not intended to work together.

Massage is, of course, a great method for relaxation. But adding essential oils to your massage can boost it from stress relieving to a healing and preventive experience.

Using a carrier oil, essential oils are mixed in to be applied to the skin. This allows you to inhale the essential oils as they are applied and throughout the day. In addition, your skin absorbs the oils, allowing them to also work from the inside out.

Bathing is a great time to introduce essential oils, especially for children. Because the oils can be absorbed through the skin with a bath (like massage) they can be effective internally as well as externally. The steam and hot water from the bath can also promote inhalation of the essential oils.

What Essential Oils Are Good For Colds?

The following is a list of essential oils that can help prevent colds, illness, boost your immune system and help you feel better when you do get sick. Remember, not all oils play nicely together! If you want to use more than one oil, either consult and carefully follow an existing recipe or purchase a blend that contains the oils you're looking for.

Our Recommendation: Immune Strength (view here)

Bergamot: used to fight viruses, like the flu; it is also an anti-inflammatory

Cedarwood: used in small amounts, it can help to treat congestion and is an antiseptic and astringent

Clove: used as an antiseptic and pain reliever, it also works as an antihistamine and can help clear congested lungs

Eucalyptus: can help in treating the flu, fever and sore throat, and clear mucous from the lungs

Lavender: while typically associated with aiding sleep, lavender is also known to help with sinus infections and is an antiseptic and stimulant for the circulatory system

Lemon: long included in even commercial cold remedies, lemon helps to treat sore throats, infections, and coughs, and is an antiviral and antiseptic

Patchouli: this oil can be used as an anti-fungal and antiseptic, while also reducing inflammation

Peppermint: commonly used as an aid in digestion, but also kills viruses, reduces fevers and relieves pain

Sandalwood: Used to reduce inflammation and treat infections, it is also an antifungal and acts as an antiseptic for lungs and the urinary tract

Tea Tree Oil: this is a go-to oil for immune system support and treatment. Not only does it stimulate the immune system, but it also works to fight bacteria, fungi and viruses

Thyme: another heavy hitter oil, thyme helps with coughs, works as an antiseptic, helps remove congestion, stimulates the immune system, has both antibacterial and antifungal properties, and can even assist with parasitic infections

With the variety of application methods, getting your family to participate in an aromatherapy routine that will promote their health is easier than ever. And thanks to the immune boosting essential oils listed here, your family can experience greater health through the worst of the cold season.

Essential Oils for Headaches and Migraine Relief

Using Essential Oils to Relieve Headaches and Migraines

For those who suffer from migraines, we're sorry. The pain can be all-encompassing. There's good news – there are essential oils that can help.

Migraine headaches are the worst. Intense pain, sensitivity to sound and light, nausea – the whole experience is terrible.  But, did you know that essential oil for headaches can help?

Migraine headaches are the 3rd most prevalent illness in the world, with 12% of the population suffering from migraines. Many more women than men suffer migraines, and the pain is debilitating – more than 90% of those afflicted cannot work or function normally during a migraine.

There are many ways to get relief. For those looking for a natural solution, essential oils for headaches can make a big difference – especially if anxiety and stress are contributing to your migraines.

The Best Essential Oil for Headaches

When you're looking for essential oil for headaches, keep in mind that there are both blends and specific oils that can help. Here are some of the individual oils we have found the most useful:

Eucalyptus Essential Oil

Eucalyptus essential oil is made from the leaves of the eucalyptus tree, which are dried, crushed, and distilled to produce the oil. The tree is Australian, and Aboriginal Australians used eucalyptus leaves in a variety of medicinal ways.

Later, Chinese, Greek, European, and Ayurvedic practitioners began to see the benefits of eucalyptus leaves and oils and began to use it for everything from disinfecting to treating colds.

When it comes to migraine headaches, eucalyptus essential oil shines due to its anti-inflammatory and expectorant qualities. Both of these properties help eucalyptus oil bring relief to migraine sufferers.

It's important to remember that eucalyptus essential oil must be diluted before it can be used for medicinal purposes. If you have chronic sinusitis that contributes to your migraine headaches, eucalyptus is one of the best essential oils for headaches.

Lavender Essential Oil

Lavender essential oil is created by distilling the flower spikes of certain species of lavender. Lavender oil has long been used as a perfume and is also well known for its relaxing properties.

When you're struggling with a migraine headache, it's hard to relax. Lavender essential oil has anti-inflammatory and calming effects, which makes it a great essential oil for headaches in the evening or when you need to sleep.

In 2012, a scientific trial found that therapeutic grade lavender essential oil aromatherapy is effective in relieving migraine headaches. In the trial, the group using lavender essential oil reported a 71% improvement in the severity of their symptoms and significantly fewer migraines than the placebo group.

Tell me that's not a great reason to try lavender essential oil for headaches!

Peppermint Essential Oil

Peppermint essential oil is distilled from the leaves of the peppermint plant. It has a variety of uses in industry and natural medicine, including the treatment of pain.

The menthol in peppermint essential oil is known for its cooling and soothing effect. It can help clear sinuses and also helps reduce stress. It has also been known to help soothe upset stomachs, which can help with nausea from a migraine attack.

Peppermint is being studied for its ability to boost both mood and memory as well. If you need to work or handle other daily tasks, peppermint essential oil for headaches would be perfect.

Migraine Oil Blends

Another option when you're looking for the right essential oil is to try a migraine blend that is made with many of the best essential oils for headaches. This can help relieve several symptoms of your headache at once.

Be sure to read the instructions for use, as many oil blends need to be diluted before they can be safely used for headaches.

How to Use Essential Oils for Migraines

If you have a migraine, you want immediate relief. It's important to be prepared beforehand because no one functions well during a migraine. You don't want to be counting oil drops with a pounding head!

Instead, take a look at these ways to use essential oils for migraines, and prepare yourself in advance. This might mean having a diffuser ready that you can turn on, or pre-diluted essential oils ready for application.

Inhalation and Aromatherapy

Inhaling essential oils is one excellent way to take them into your system easily and allow them to get to work. It's important to note that you need to use therapeutic grade oils, not simply scented oils. Only therapeutic grade oils are pure enough to work properly.

There are several ways to inhale essential oils. In many cases, you can simply put a few drops on your hands and hold them to your face and inhale the scent. This works well with gentle oils like lavender.

If you're on the go, consider using a diffuser necklace. These necklaces have a variety of designs and all of them allow you to inhale your essential oils throughout the day to enhance relaxation, keep your sinuses clear, and keep migraines at bay.

Finally, you can inhale steam with essential oils diffused in it to help with your migraine. If you have an essential oil diffuser, you can prepare this in advance and simply turn it on.

If you don't have a diffuser, here's an easy hot water trick: add two or three drops of peppermint or eucalyptus essential oil to a bowl of steaming hot water. Lean over the bowl and breathe in the steam. This works especially well if your migraine is accompanied by a cold.

Direct Application

Let me say first that it's vital to know which oils need dilution and which do not before you apply them to your skin. Be sure to dilute eucalyptus oil, for example, but you don't need to worry about lavender.

To apply essential oil for a headache, simply apply one to three drops to your fingers and rub your temples gently. This allows the oil to penetrate the skin and ease your pain.

Anyone who has had a migraine headache knows how debilitating they are. Fortunately, there are a variety of essential oils that can help with your pain and allow you to relax and find relief. You can apply them directly or breathe them in.

No matter how you use them, essential oils for headaches make a difference!

Essential Oils for Anxiety and Stress Management

Using Essential Oils to Naturally Manage Anxiety and Stress

Incorporate aromatherapy into your stress and anxiety management with this guide on the five best oils to use. Breathe in, breathe out, and relax here.

Have you ever caught a whiff of a fragrance and instantly transported to a very specific memory in your mind?

Scent truly is the strongest sense tied to memory. But our sense of smell can also be strongly connected to how we feel, our stress levels, and how we cope with anxiety. Certain scents can also play a role in our overall mood and can have adverse or positive effects.

But why does scent have such a strong influence over us, and how can aromatherapy manipulate and use scent in a positive way? Let's take a look at how scent works and how the practice of aromatherapy can help you with stress management.

The Senses and Stress

Anxiety Management with oilsAnxiety is no joke. It is much more than an unpleasant feeling or an extreme fear. Anxiety affects your mental wellness, bodily health, and even how your senses operate.

Everything in one's life can be affected by chronic anxiety, including our senses. And, our senses can be used to fight anxiety as well.

A person's sensitivity to certain smells can develop anxious feelings, most commonly the smells of our environment and our own body scents. If you feel as if you, your clothes, and your environment do not smell pleasant, it can result is self-consciousness and anxious feelings.

Smell is a crazy thing and a powerful one at that. It is absolutely possible that because our olfactory senses are the strongest of all the senses, we may be overthinking our own odors.

Just as well, anxiety alone can affect how we smell things. Anxious feelings and chronic anxiety make us more sensitive and aware of our senses. This means that a person with anxiety may perceive things much differently than a person without anxiety.

Think about it: Our brain filters information constantly, picking out the things that are important and tossing out the things that aren't. A person with anxiety is not able to filter things like sensory information all that well, so they perceive the sights, sounds, and smells around them more intensely than they should.

Scientists also agree that olfactory responses are directly connected to the emotional center of the human brain. Interesting stuff, right? It makes sense why smells have such a strong influence over how we feel.

This is where aromatherapy can become helpful. But how exactly does aromatherapy work, and is it legitimate? Let's take a look at the facts.

Aromatherapy 101: Essential Oils

Essential Oil BottleAromatherapy is the art of using aroma compounds derived from plant oils (mostly essential oils), to alter one's mood and psychological well-being. This includes burning, diffusing, or carrying around essential oils with a strong, specific odor in order to manipulate one's mood for the better. Aromatherapists also use essential oils topically, through massage, through inhalation, or in diffused water.

The act of using essential oils for therapeutic purposes can be traced all the way back to ancient Chinese, Indian, Egyptian, and Greek cultures.

Using aromatherapy is not the same as seeing a doctor, by any means. If you feel as if your quality of life is deteriorating because of an anxiety disorder, please reach out to friends, family, and medical professionals!

Aromatherapy simply serves a complimentary, pleasant activity that may be able to help calm you down, and is often offered as a complementary therapy alongside standard treatment.

Essential Oils for Stress Management

These scents are great for improving your mood and reducing anxious feelings.  If you're looking for an amazing blend for stress management, we recommend to try Calming essential oil blend which contains Tangerine, Ylang Ylang, Orange, German/Roman Chamomile mix, & Patchouli.

You can also try these single oils which can be bought here.

Lavender is a fantastic scent for aiding in sleep. Anxiety can keep us up all night, but lavender naturally aids us in feeling sleepy. Lavender has been used to treat insomnia in female college students and can aid in easing sleeping problems.

When you think of pine, chances are you think of joyful holidays. Pine is becoming a more popular essential oil for the easing of stress and chronic anxiety.

Peppermint is a great choice for helping with focus. Studies have linked the act of smelling peppermint to better cognitive stamina, concentration, and performance. Peppermint is often a strong scent and is great at providing a stark, invigorating way to pull yourself out of your anxious mind and focus on what's in front of you.

Lemon and other citrus fruits are good at waking us up. You may even be able to skip your morning coffee, another factor that could be increasing your anxiety. Simply smelling fresh citrus or lemon essential oil can boost your energy and increase your alertness.

The Benefits of Oil Diffusing Jewelry

Essential oil jewelry is a genius idea. Anxiety doesn't wait for you to come home and use your household oil diffuser.

Anxiety can hit at any moment during the day. You can become stressed out in your car, at work, or at public functions.

The beauty of essential oil diffuser necklaces and bracelets is that they are carried around with you. If you feel a swell of anxious feelings coming on, taking a whiff of your jewelry can help.

Essential Oil Diffuser Necklaces

Necklaces, lockets, and pendants with built-in oil diffusers are an absolutely fabulous way to de-stress, wherever you happen to be.

Premium quality stainless steel aromatherapy jewelry lasts for a long time and isn't too bulky. Many find them perfect for carrying essential oil. Felt pads are usually soaked in an essential oil and placed inside of the necklace. That way, you can smell the scent from the essential oils right under your nose.

Aromatherapy necklaces are often used by doctors and nurses in hospitals and in other high-stress workplaces.

Essential Oil Diffuser Bracelets

Essential oil diffusing bracelets are similar to their necklace counterpart but are also slightly different.

This diffuser type may not sit directly under your nose, but once your hand comes near your face you can get a nice whiff of the aromatic oils diffused by the bracelet. An oil diffusing bracelet is perfect for those who don't want to smell their essential oils all day but only at dispersed moments throughout their day.

Essential oils may be just what you need for a nice aromatic pick me up.

Have you used essential oils to aid any stress or anxiety? Have you tried diffuser jewelry before? We'd love to hear about your experience in the comments.

Essential Oil Affiliate Programs

If you're searching for the best essential oil affiliate program or aromatherapy affiliate program, we've got you covered!

If you have a website or blog that's related to health, wellness, aromatherapy, or organic products then you have an opportunity to share with your readers products from other companies and earn commissions.

Take Caution When Choosing Affiliate Programs

There are many things you have to consider when promoting another companies products and if you get it wrong, you may not see many commissions at all.

Penetrex Cream Review

Searching on Amazon today, I ran across an interesting product called Penetrex Pain Relief Therapy Cream.  What really caught my attention was the astounding number of over 18,000 reviews (You can read them here).

What is Penetrex Pain Relief Cream?

I had to take a deeper look into this so-called “pain-relief” cream that guarantees results for people who suffer from arthritis, knee pain, back pain, plantar fasciitis, tendonitis, neuropathy, sciatica, bursitis, fibromyalgia, neck pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, hip pain, tennis elbow, golf elbow, shoulder pain, shin splints, heel pain, chronic pain, etc.

Penetrex Pain Cream

First of all, I was surprised to see that the company of Penetrex called Biomax received a Patent (#62397648) for its invention known as the “Manifold Compound Emulsification Process”. This breakthrough system pertains to the creation of not just the proprietary ingredient blend but the specific manufacturing process that results in the unique formulation known as “Penetrex”. Penetrex is also formulated and manufactured in the U.S.

Penetrex Ingredients

Here are the main ingredients that makes Penetrex so powerful:

  • Arnica
  • Glucosamine
  • MSM / DMSO2
  • Aloe
  • Vitamin B6 & E
  • Cetyl Myristoleate
  • Boswellia Serrata

These clinically proven ingredients create an amazing combination to help with inflammation and other types of pain without the “hot” or “cold” effect you get with other products such as Bengay or Icy Hot.  These types of products usually include an higher percentage of menthol which gives you that feeling of a hot or cold sensation.

What I really like about Penetrex is this product was created to heal and repair, not just mask the pain.

Penetrex Directions For Use

Based on the manufacturer, you are to apply Penetrex liberally to the affected area(s) and continue to massage in thoroughly for a minute or two until you can see that it has been absorbed through the skin. The appropriate amount of Penetrex to use on each occasion should be enough so that the product massages in smoothly & comfortably over the entire area.

There are over 350 questions asked on Amazon about this product in which you can get answers for.  One of the most common questions asked is:

“Does Penetrex have an odor?”

Most claim that it has a slight mint type odor due to the minimal amount of menthol but the smell is not overwhelming or enough to be a bother.

Why Try Penetrex Pain Relief Cream?

Here's a couple reason why you many want to give Penetrex pain relief and anti-inflammatory cream a try:

  1. It's currently ranked #1 on Amazon for pain relief rubs and arthritis.
  2. They offer a 100% money-back guarantee.  Just give them a call.

Where to Buy Penetrex?

If you want to get Penetrex, there are several places you will probably consider buying from including:

  • Walmart
  • CVS
  • Amazon
  • Walgreens
  • Target

After looking at these online stores, we found the ones sell Penetrex was Wal-Mart and Amazon.  At the time of writing this Penetrex review, the cheapest place to buy Penetrex is from Amazon.  If you have Amazon Prime, you will also get free 2-day shipping which makes this a no-brainer.

Rocky Mountain Oils Peppermint Mocha Oil Blend

Rocky Mountain Oils Peppermint Mocha

First is RMO's Peppermint Mocha essential oil blend available in a 5ml bottle.  In my personal opinion, this is just mesmerizing!  When first smelling this oil blend, it instantly reminds me of chocolate chip mint ice cream.

RMO Peppermint Mocha Essential Oil Ingredients

  • Peppermint
  • Balsam of Peru
  • Coffee

As a lover of coffee and peppermint, the Peppermint Mocha blend won me over instantly.  After diffusing this blend for an hour last night I was craving more!  While this is said to be a Autumn blend, I could diffuse this year round.

Rocky Mountain Oils Pumpkin Spice Latte Oil Blend

RMO Pumpkin Spice Latte Essential Oil Blend

You won't be disappointed in the Pumpkin Spice Latte essential oil blend from RMO!  I had to take several “whiffs” of this amazing blend to experience all the essential oils in it.

RMO Pumpkin Spice Latte essential oil ingredients

  • Coffee
  • Cinnamon Bark
  • Orange
  • Clove Bud
  • Balsam of Peru
  • Vanilla

While each oil can be smelled, the cinnamon has the strongest presence.  While there's no real pumpkin smell, it reminds me of a smell of a pumpkin spice coffee from the cinnamon, clove and coffee oils.  Adding the orange and vanilla adds a very nice soothing experience to smell that would give anyone the reminder that fall is approaching.

We have always recommended Rocky Mountain Oils as one of best essential oil companies to buy from.  RMO offers premium quality essential oils including GC/MS reports and amazing customer support with no hassle ordering, frequent promotions and a points reward program.

Rocky Mountain Oils Unwind Review

Rocky Mountain Oils Unwind essential oil blend is a refreshing mix of Lime, Copaiba, Cedarwood and Vanilla.  The smell is absolutely amazing.  RMO Unwind's essential oil will calm the heart and invigorate the soul.  Now's the time to let go of pain and invite serenity into your life.

See it here on Rocky Mountain Oils website: www.rockymountainoils.com

Many essential oil blends contain citrus oils such as Lime.  Citrus essentials should not be applied topically before going into the sun because they are phototoxic.  But Rocky Mountain's Unwind is different.  The Lime is steam-distilled so it's not phototoxic and is safe to apply topically before sun exposure.  This makes it the perfect calming and relaxing blend to be worn anytime of day, inside or outside.

Rocky Mountain Oils Unwind Quality

There's a couple things that we really love about RMO.  First, is that they are not a MLM company.  Second, they invest in premium quality essential oils and want to ensure their customers only have the best available.  As current users of Young Living and doTERRA oils, we know what to expect when it comes to quality and RMO doesn't slack anywhere.

When smelling Unwind, I'm immediately overwhelmed with a variety of aroma that can quickly be identified as Lime and Vanilla.  Two of my favorites scents!  There's also a hint of Lavender but it's not overpowering.  The Copaiba and Cedarwood give it earthly tones that really makes the smell just perfect and relaxing.

And remember, you can always enter the 6 digit code on the bottom of your essential oil bottle from RMO here on their website to view the GC/MS results from your batch.

Essential Oils For Arthritis and Inflammation

Using essential oils for Arthritis and inflammation is quickly becoming a safe and effective alternative to medication.  Read on to learn why.

Dealing with the pain and inflammation from Arthritis is a difficult daily experience for many people.   In fact, it's said that around 350 million people worldwide suffer from Arthritis; that is almost the same number as the entire United State's population. Over half of these people are under the age of 65.

If you are one of these 350 million people, you should consider all of your treatment options. Many medications and treatments are expensive and can cause some nasty side effects.

Alternatively, you may want to try out some top essential oils for Arthritis treatment.  Essential oils are great for creating stimulating scents and effective, natural pain relief.

Arthritis & Aromatherapy

essential oils for arthritis in hands

When treating conditions like Arthritis, many people opt for alternative medicines and treatments. These can offer effective, natural results without the use of drugs and procedures with nasty side effects. If you suffer from Arthritis, you may have considered or used an alternative treatment yourself.

Many people, up to 40% of Americans, use some kind of alternative treatment when dealing with medical conditions like Arthritis and inflammation of muscles.

Aromatherapy uses scented oils for therapeutic purposes. It uses certain smells and sensations created by the oils to relieve pain and promote a good, long lasting experience.

Aromatherapy through essential oils is often preferred as an ongoing treatment for Arthritis because of its pain management benefits. Aromatherapy often has secondary benefits as well. It can promote relaxation and mental rejuvenation which will keep your mind healthy while you manage your Arthritis.

Compared to other drugs and medical treatments, aromatherapy is also safe and free of side effects for most people. If you are careful to use the oils properly and you don't have an allergy to a particular oil, you can use aromatherapy as a supplemental treatment option without worry.

Best Essential Oils for Arthritis

essential oil blends arthritisThere are many different essential oils for Arthritis treatment you can choose from and try. Some oils will help more with pain relief while others will get you more relaxed.

Many of these oils are frequently available and easy to buy.  While everyone may react a bit differently to the effects of essential oils, we have experienced significant results using doTERRA's Deep Blue oil blend of products which can be purchased from doTERRA through Amazon here.

Keep in mind, a lot of essential oils may be too strong to be used directly. In this case, you can dilute the oil with another oil like coconut or olive oil.

Here are a few of the essential oils we recommend to help with Arthritis and inflammation.

Peppermint Oil

Peppermint leaves and oil are common in alternative medicine. Peppermint oil can also be found in soaps and other fragrances due to its pleasant smell and feel.

When treating the symptoms of Arthritis, peppermint oil can effectively relieve pain and inflammation. Peppermint contains I-menthol which acts as a natural anesthetic and anti-irritant agent.

Mixing peppermint oil with a carrier oil is especially important since peppermint can be strong and pungent.

Eucalyptus Oil

Extracted from eucalyptus leaves from Australia, eucalyptus oil is common in many medicines and skin treatments. One of its key ingredients, Eucalyptol, is great for the anti-inflammation for aching joints.

You can rub some diluted eucalyptus oil directly on the skin for immediate pain relief. Some people also enjoy the smell of eucalyptus when applied as a scent.

Make sure to test a small area of your skin to make sure you aren't allergic to the oil before major use.

Ginger Oil

Ginger oil is common in natural painkillers due to its analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. The oil works at the cellular level to relieve pain by rapidly affecting the nerve pathways that create the sensation of pain.

Ginger oil has a pleasant smell and is often used as a scented oil in aromatherapy. When it applied to the skin, it may cause a slight burning sensation, but the oil is completely safe.

Try using just a couple drops at a time if you've never used ginger oil before.

Citrus Oil

Citrus oil, extracted from a variety of citrus fruits, is a great oil to feel recharged. The oil works in a similar way to smelling salts. It acts as a mild irritant which wakes your mind and body up.

You can use citrus oil diluted in a carrier oil with a diffuser necklace to create a wonderful scented experience. You can also rub the diluted oil on the back of your hand for a temporary aromatic experience if you need a quick boost of energy.

Rosemary Oil

Rosemary oil is a common culinary ingredient extracted from plants in the Mediterranean. The oil offers similar pain relief and anti-inflammatory benefits as other essential oils.

You can apply rosemary oil directly on achy joints if you use a carrier oil. It is also safe for oral consumption, meaning you can use it in your cooking or even as a mouthwash.

As with other oils, be sure to test a couple drops on your skin before major use.

How to Use Essential Oils for Arthritis

Aromatherapy uses essential oils in a variety of ways to promote its natural benefits. You can try out any of these different approaches to see which option you prefer.

For topical use, we recommend diluting with a carrier oil.  If you choose to take essential oils internally, make sure you're buy from a high quality essential oil company.

Inhalation: Using a diffuser, you can vaporize the essential oil to inhale it. In general, this form of aromatherapy is great for dealing with respiratory issues and for promoting relaxation.

Use the essential oil sparingly (no more than 5-10 drops).

Topical Application: Essential oils often make great anti-inflammatory agents if you rub a diluted solution on achy joints and body parts.

Making It Work

Finding which essential oils and aromatherapy methods work for you can take some trial and error. Feel free to experiment with different oils to see which scents and sensations you prefer. You can even mix and match by applying different oils to different body parts or by using a combination of scents.

If you would like more help with finding the right essential oils for Arthritis, feel free to contact us. We will be happy to offer our recommendations.

For home cleaning, tea tree oil is great to tackle tough stains in the bathroom. It's gentle, and is great to combat viruses like influenza and Staph! It will leave your glass and tiles smelling fresh and looking great.

Wild Orange Oil – If you like a citrus scent in the kitchen, check out wild orange oil. Wild orange is one of the best essential oils for cleaning kitchens.

It leaves behind a great, strong scent, and is awesome to use against grease. Just a couple of drops is all you need to handle any tough stains on surfaces or dishes.

In addition to making your kitchen shine, you can also use wild orange oil as a floor cleaner, a room spray, and to make your own fabric softener. Going natural opens up a whole world of doors.

Rosemary Oil – Need something a little different for your homemade dish soap? Look no further than rosemary oil.

Rosemary makes a fantastic mattress spray and a wonderful air freshener. All you need is a few drops in a spray bottle filled with water to make your home smell incredible.

You can use it in homemade dish soap, or pair it with vinegar to make a powerful surface cleaner. My personal favorite is to use it with water as a linen spray.

Once you spray it throughout your bedroom, even pairing it with your rosemary mattress spray, you'll feel any and all tension melt away from you!

Peppermint Oil – Peppermint oil is just about as versatile as lemon. Not only does it give you a clean, energizing scent, but it also comes jam packed with antibacterial properties.

Use peppermint oil around the house as a room spray to fight any pesky odors. Similarly to tea tree oil, you can also use peppermint oil to ward off bugs. Spray it in nooks, corners, and crannies where ants or other insects make their way in.

Eucalyptus Oil – Eucalyptus oil could easily turn into your secret weapon. Eucalyptus has several natural benefits, including being a great germicide.

Use eucalyptus oil as another bug repellent, or use it to scrub down your mattresses. Eucalyptus oil is also one of the best oils for cleaning laundry. Drop a little in your natural detergent, or just straight into the wash.

Cinnamon Oil – Have mold in your bathroom? Not with cinnamon oil on your side. Its powerful mold and mildew-repelling properties make it a great addition to your bathroom cleaners.

Along with eucalyptus and peppermint oil, cinnamon oil can also be a great pest repellent. Use a cotton swab to apply oil to anywhere bugs normally creep in.

Essential Oils For Sleep & Relaxation

In this article, you will learn what are the best essential oils for sleep and relaxation.  Don't think you're the only one having trouble sleeping.  In fact, the LA Times reports:

“According to the Centers for Disease Control, as many as 70 million U.S. adults suffer from sleep disorders or sleep deprivation.  Only a third of Americans get the government's recommended seven to nine hours of sleep a night.”

If you are suffering like so many of us you know how frustrating it can be. Beyond tired, you crave a good night's sleep.

And it just doesn't happen.

Essential Oils For Sleep

Some are so frustrated, they can only see two solutions:

“Lobotomy or death.”

Hold on. Before you take drastic measures, we have a much simpler answer. Something safe, inexpensive, and scientifically proven to work.

You already know essential oils are great for boosting your immune system. And they help you detox.

But there's great news for all of us who have spent our nights tossing and turning and then spent our days tired and frustrated and yawning like crazy.

Using essential oils for sleep really works.

Let's find out more:

Using Essential Oils For Sleep Works

It's startling to realize that some people still doubt how effective essential oils can be in treating health issues. Some view essential oils as a fad or a gimmick.

Or worse, they think of essential oils as new age gibberish.

The truth, of course, is that essential oils work. Experts and scientists agree.

Fox News Health reports on using lavender essential oils for sleep:

“It's been shown to promote relaxation and sleep. Try adding a few drops to the bath, or on your pillow to help you unwind and fall asleep.”

Scientific studies prove essential oils help people get better rest.  Take it from The National Institutes of Health:

“Lavender has been suggested as an excellent natural remedy to treat insomnia and improve the sleep quality.”

Single-blind randomized studies investigating the effectiveness of lavender odor on the quality of sleep showed that lavender improved the mean scores of sleep quality.

And it's not just lavender. There are a number of essential oils proven to reduce stress and anxiety.

You can try using a Citrus bergamia essential oil for example. The studies prove that it works:

“Aromatherapy to improve mood and the mild symptoms of stress disorders, such as anxiety, depression, and chronic pain, is supported by both the physiological and psychological effects.”

Sleeping Pills are Risky

Essential oils work naturally to help you get a deep sleep. You wake up well rested, clear headed, and ready for an amazing day. Plus, they are safe.

The FDA confirms using essential oils are safe.

On the other hand, sleeping pills are anything but. Sleeping pills have a number of side effects.

The FDA confirms that even more side effects will emerge as more Americans use sleeping pills more frequently.

As the independent, not-for-profit, evidence-based journal Medicinewise Living explains, there are many risks associated with taking sleeping pills.

Some of these are downright frightening:

  • Sleeping pills can cause side effects. For sleeping pills, potential side effects include drowsiness, light headedness, memory loss and poor concentration.
  • It's quite easy to become dependent on some types of sleeping pills, making it difficult to stop taking them without having rebound sleep problems or unpleasant withdrawal effects.
  • People may wake up feeling groggy, or have a hangover, after using some sleeping pills
  • Sleeping pills can make you feel drowsy, lethargic, less alert or less able to focus the next day.
  • Some sleeping pills can cause temporary memory loss.
  • Sleeping pills that make you feel groggy the next morning can increase your chance of falling or having an accident.
  • You may need to avoid driving or operating heavy machinery while taking sleeping pills. Even the next day.
  • Mixing sleeping pills with alcohol, illegal drugs, or other medicines can further increase your risk of experiencing side effects.
  • Some sleeping pills prevent you from sleeping as deeply as you need to in order to feel rested the next day.
  • Sleeping pills can lead to sleepwalking and other abnormal sleep-related behaviors.

In a study on sleeping pills the FDA found some other hard facts:

“The most widely prescribed sleeping pills can cause strange behavior like driving and eating while asleep.”

And, “reports of unusual side effects have grown as the use of sleeping pills increases.”

Hard facts to swallow. So don't.

It almost sounds better to deal with insomnia. Besides drowsiness, bizarre behavior, and the risks of getting hooked, the scientific facts state:

The pills themselves can prevent you from getting the sleep you so desperately need.

Keeping this in mind we hope you see why essential oils for sleep are a much better option than sleeping pills.

Sleeping Pills are Expensive

It's true: those sleeping pills may be actually costing us rest and relaxation.

Those of us who've tried sleeping pills often wake up groggy.

But they're costing us more than sleep.

Sleeping pills are very expensive compared to using essential oils. Knowing where and how to buy essential oils makes them a much better value.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, “About 9 million American adults use prescription sleeping pills to help get a decent night's rest.”

That's “bad news for the multibillion-dollar sleeping pill industry,” the LA Times reports.

We may not need them anymore.

Essential Oils Cost Much Less

Not only are those pills not working. They're expensive.

We're paying too much for something that doesn't even work.

Think your pocketbook is getting hit hard? What about the economic impact to your work life.

Now expand those personal numbers. Lack of sleep is a global issue.

And the numbers are staggering. The Chicago Tribune reports:

“Lack of sleep exacts an economic toll of more than half a trillion dollars per year in the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, and Japan alone. The lack of sleep in these countries and across the globe affects work, business and, as a result, the world's economy.”

Using essential oils for sleep can improve your overall well-being naturally and safely.

Essential Oils For Congestion & Sinus Infection

If you're thinking about using essential oils for congestion, sinuses or a sinus infection, then read on.. It's estimated that over 30 million people in the United States today suffer from sinusitis. Sinusitis means clogged sinuses, headaches, and a number of other symptoms.

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) counts the number of adults with diagnosed sinusitis at 29.4 million.

12.3% of the population is diagnosed with sinusitis.

Many think the number is low. Think you may suffer from sinusitis? Considering using essential oils for congestion?  You may have sinusitis and not even know it. Specialists agree it is often misdiagnosed.

We've prepared a list of 7 Things to Know About Using Essential Oils For Congestion & Sinus Infection to answer any questions you may have.

Let's find out if you have sinus congestion first:

1. Congestion is Often Misdiagnosed

Sinus Infection

Even though the reported cases of sinus congestion are staggering, many doctors thing the numbers are low. Simply put, patients suffer from sinusitis and think it is something else.

Dr. Stacey Silvers, an ear, nose, and throat doctor at Beth Israel Hospital in New York City explains:

“What most people don't know is that you can have sinusitis without having a runny or stuffy nose or difficulty breathing, because the mucus is congested further back in the sinuses.”

” If you suffer from facial tenderness, pressure or pain, headache behind the eyes and forehead, or loss of taste or smell and fatigue, you may have sinusitis.”

Doctors call sinusitis “one of the most misdiagnosed and misunderstood of all common medical problems.”

2. It's Tough To Treat

Because sinusitis and congestion are so misunderstood they are often tough to treat.

Unfortunately, some doctors jump to recommend surgery or methods that may not improve the problem. Worse, the problems just keep coming back.

Dr. Jordan Josephson, a sinus specialist at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, explains:

Because sinusitis is chronic, the same things that caused the narrowing of the airway leading to surgery are likely to happen again over time, he said.

Not sure if you have sinusitis? Maybe you are just feeling fatigued?

Dr. Jordan Josephson says “Chronic sinusitis is the number one cause for chronic fatigue and is closely associated with snoring and sleep apnea.”

3. Essential Oils Really Help

You already know essential oils are great for headaches and migraine relief. But that headache you're having may be due to sinus congestion.

Good news, using essential oils for congestion has been recommended by doctors and health experts as a proven remedy. It's also great for prevention.

Unlike surgical remedies you can try essential oils from the comfort of your home once you know how. And since sinus congestion is often chronic, essential oils are part of a great long term treatment plan.

4. Essential Oils for Congestion are Safe

There are many treatments for sinus congestion. Not all of them are safe.

So now you know you're having sinus issues. Or maybe you knew all along and were dissatisfied with traditional treatment options.

We know what you're thinking: “Is it safe to use essential oils for congestion?”

It's natural to worry. Many solutions just seem to make the problem worse.

Or they're costly and result in multiple surgeries.

If you're worried that using essential oils for congestion could make things worse, you don't need to. The FDA has declared essential oils are safe.

5. It's Easy to Use Essential Oils for Congestion

Beyond being safe, essential oils are easy to use.

Much less costly than other treatment options, you can administer essential oils on your own. And as you will find, the experts agree that essential oils help.

Here's some ideas on how to get the sinus relief you need with essential oils:

  • With a Massage
  • Taken Orally
  • Using a Neti Pot
  • In Your Bath
  • Car Diffusers
  • With a Humidifier
  • Diffuser Necklaces
  • Applied in Nasal Passages (More on that later)
  • Inhaling Steam Infused with Essential Oils

In The Ultimate Cold and Flu Survival Guide, Dr. Jaclyn Chasse, a naturopathic physician in Bedford, N.H. recommends:

“Several times a day, add a few drops of thyme or eucalyptus oil to boiling water, then breathe in the aromatic steam.”

“The menthol-like smell should make your airways feel as if they're opening up.”

“Plus, adds Dr. Chasse, it's thought that antimicrobial particles in these essential oils coat the mucous membrane lining the nasal cavity.”

6. Essential Oils Equal Prevention

Ben Franklin famously said:

“An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”

While he was talking about fighting fires, if you're anything like us you'd love to prevent sinus congestion from happening in the first place.

Good news: You don't have to wait until your sinuses are clogged, your head is pounding, and you can barely breathe.

You can use essential oils for congestion before your problems strike. In fact, experts suggest to head off the problem before it even starts.

In Smart Sinus Care: From Prevention to Treatment, Dr. Purvi Parikh, M.D. encourages patients to work on prevention.

“Apply moisturizing gel inside your nostrils to relieve dry nasal passages – try ones with eucalyptus, menthol or essential oils like peppermint or clove.”

7. Which Essential Oils Work Best for Congestion

As Doctor Parikh explains above, there are a number of different essential oils that can help with congestion.  And while each individual oil listed below has it's own properties to tackle congestion and sinus issues, you can find essential oil blends like Jade Blooms RELIEF and Rocky Mountain Oils BREATHE EASE that contain several oils to work more effectively.

Single essential oils for congestion and sinuses include:

  • Tea Tree
  • Lavender
  • Eucalyptus
  • Peppermint
  • Clove
  • Rosemary
  • Thyme
  • Lemon

Ready to start using the proven sinus remedy essential oils offers?

Remember, before buying essential oils for congestion and sinus infection, there's a huge difference in quality.

Not sure how to shop for essential oils? Don't just head down to your local department store as their quality is usually low and meant for fragrance use only while being way overpriced.

We've put together a list of recommended essential companies where you can learn more about how to buy high-quality discount essential oils.

Essential Oils For Constipation Relief

Using essential oils for constipation relief and upset stomach is one of the fastest ways to naturally and safely ease your symptoms.

While aromatherapy is an essential part of essential oil use, we use essential oils for many things and there are a number of oils that aid in digestion which is why we're here today. If you suffer from constipation, you're probably tired of prune juice and you've probably exhausted your body with too many over the counter remedies.

Sometimes, you need a natural solution to your problem that doesn't taste like fermented fruit leather and your body will thank you for it later.

There are a number of essential oils for constipation.  And you should understand that these oils will not cure you of chronic constipation, but might relieve some of your symptoms.  If you experience chronic constipation, you should see your doctor.

While there are several choices of essential oils to use for constipation, upset stomach and such, we recommend using Digest or Tummy Rub.  Both are essential oil blends used specifically to help these types of issues.

First, Some Essential Oil Safety

There are some essential oils for constipation that are safe to use every day. Some of these oils will be on our list.

But some oils are harmful if you ingest or use them too often.  Essential oils are steam concentrated plant oils.

For example, it takes 16 lbs of fresh peppermint to make one ounce of essential oil.

That's a whole lot of peppermint for such a small amount of oil, therefore, it's highly important that you dilute your oils for use in and on your body.

There's a myth going around that if a rash results from essential oil use, then you're detoxing.

This is far from true. Your skin can react to any chemical or substance you place on.  This is especially true if you neglect to dilute your oils before applying them to your skin.

If you notice a rash, cease use immediately and take a shower. If the rash continues more than a day or two, see your doctor.

1. Essential Oils For Constipation: Peppermint Oil

Peppermint is an amazing flavoring for sure. It's great in mochas and deserts. It's great as a tea.  Peppermint essential oils for constipation are one of the top symptom relieving agents you can buy.

The oil features anti-spasmodic properties. If you're experiencing cramps due to constipation, this is the oil to try.

It's also a decent analgesic and could relieve some of the pain associated with constipation as well.  If you are going to digest this essential oil, use a 10% solution in water or you can find capsules of peppermint oil.

Unless highly diluted, we recommend you don't use Peppermint essential oil on kids with constipation.

2. Rosemary Oil

Rosemary oil is another popular gastrointestinal aid. It too can relax the muscles that help move things around in your bowels.

If you're looking to digest this oil, use two to three drops of oil in hot water as a sort of tea.  It shouldn't take long for you to start feeling better.

3. Clove Oil

If you're looking for a way to decrease inflammation in your intestinal wall due to constipation, clove oil is your oil.  Not only is Clove essential oil amazing for toothaches and inner mouth numbing but it's known to prevent nausea, gas, diarrhea, intestinal spasms, and bloating.

It also seems to have an anti-bacterial or anti-fungal effect on the body. If you're experiencing an upset stomach, you could try clove oil.

When it comes to essential oils for constipation, clove oil is a great daily supplement as well. It's safe to eat with a meal each day.

4. Cardamon Oil

While your five-year-old might confuse the words cardigan and cardamon, you should know the difference.

Of the essential oils for constipation, cardamon oil relieves certain digestive symptoms.  It's known to stimulate gastric juices, the secretion of bile, and helps in other common digestive problems.

Above all, it just helps you have a healthy colon. You should try to take this at least once a week.

5. Sweet Basil Oil

This oil makes most crave pizza merely because of the name. But it's actually a great digestive aid.

Put a few drops in water and drink it before eating a meal.

6. Tarragon Oil

10 Uses For Peppermint Essential Oil

10 Common and Powerful Uses For Peppermint Oil

Peppermint oil… who knew that this essential oil could do so much? From stress to headache relief to far-reaching health benefits, you need to read this list.  Peppermint is one of the oldest herbal medicines in our history. It's no wonder that those who prefer natural methods for controlling their health and wellness tend to gravitate towards this wonderful oil for their aromatherapy needs.

Aromatherapy is a natural means to holistically address any concerns you may have with your body. In fact, it's likely that you know at least one person in your circle of friends that has turned to the use of aromatherapy (such as peppermint oil uses) to help with their ailments.

Stress, headaches, low energy…? Essential oil therapy is one approach that can help your symptoms.

Some researchers believe that the scents exuded from essential oils stimulate the parts of your brain associated with memories, physical, emotional, and mental health.

Before we jump into the benefits of peppermint, let's talk about what aromatherapy is, what certain essential oils can help with, and why peppermint oil uses should be at the forefront of your attention.

Aromatherapy and Peppermint Oil

Peppermint Essential Oil

Though it seems like aromatherapy has only become a popular term recently, it's been around since 1937.

A French perfumer and chemist, Rene-Maurice Gattefosse, created aromatherapy after noticing a connection between certain scents and the alleviation of certain ailments. Though this is not a precise science, the connections he noticed time and time again prompted him to even write a book on the topic.

Aromatherapy is the use of different scents to improve your mood, energy, and address different health concerns that a person may have.  Some pure essential oils can be ingested by mouth, but the use of oils through skin-application and inhalation are most common.

Methods of Using Essential Oils for Aromatherapy

There are different uses to use essential oils, each offering a different benefit to the user.

  • Aerial diffusion – the oils evaporate into the air. This not only gives the room a specific fragrance, but it is also said to disinfect the area and allow all occupants of the room to receive the benefits.
  • Direct inhalation – either by holding the vial of oil itself, or through the use of diffuser jewelry, individuals may experience the benefits of essential oils – such as decongestion, respiratory disinfection, and mood improvement.
  • Topical applications – In certain cases, the essential oils are directly massaged into the skin so that the user can experience the benefits through inhalation and bodily infusion. This typically occurs during massages, baths, and other therapeutic skin care procedures.

The Top 10 List For Peppermint Essential Oil

There are even some documented uses of peppermint going as far back as the Romans when it was used as flavoring for wines and even as an aphrodisiac. As far as the origins go, the Greeks seem to attribute the creation of peppermint to a myth involving the Greek Gods Hades, Persephone, and a nymph.

Since then, peppermint oil has found its way into the most-used essential oils.

What are some peppermint oil uses?

1. Treat a sinus headache.

Peppermint oil improves blood flow and opens the sinuses so more oxygen can get into the bloodstream. These properties will help to naturally relieve a headache.

2. Muscle pain relief.

Because peppermint oil typically creates a cooling sensation, this feeling can offer relief and stimulate relaxation within your sore muscles.

3. Increase energy and alertness, reduce mental and physical fatigue.

You can thank the refreshing scent of peppermint for this benefit. It's shown that the sharp scent of peppermint essential oil is a natural stimulant to our senses, giving us an energized feeling.

4. Freshen breath.

Since peppermint is one of the most common flavors found in toothpaste and mouthwashes, a quick rinse of peppermint oil and water is a chemical-free way to freshen your breath!

5. Soothe an upset stomach or indigestion.

You can help ease your digestion problems with a solution of 1-3 drops of peppermint oil in a carrier oil. This can then be rubbed on your abdomen. If ingested, peppermint essential oil can reduce painful colon spasms.

6. Curb appetite.

If you want to prevent overeating, smelling peppermint oil can help trigger a sense of fullness.

7. Repel unwanted pests

If you have roaches, ants, or even mice, you can avoid dangerous chemicals and poisons by reaching for your peppermint oil instead. Placing peppermint oil-infused cotton balls in the areas where pests have been sighted can help repel them.

8. Reduce a fever.

Similar to the benefits peppermint essential oil provides to sore muscles, the oil's cooling properties can also help reduce fevers.

9. Promote healthy respiration.

Peppermint essential oil can open your airways and acts as a decongestant. You can even make your own chest rub by mixing peppermint, eucalyptus, and coconut oil together!

10. Reduce nausea.

Peppermint oil has used as a natural remedy for nausea and morning sickness for ages. Peppermint has calming properties that soothe an upset stomach and can quell nausea. To get these effects, you can place a few drops of peppermint oil onto a tissue or diffuser and inhale slowly.

5 Essential Oils to Help You Detox

Our list of 5 Essential Oils to Help You Detox Before the Cold Season Hits

Cold season is just around the corner, and you need all you can to detox! Here's our guide on the best essential oils to detox you and your family.

You've heard that your body is a temple. In fact, in many ancient cultures, that temple was a sacred and clean space to connect with the spiritual.

Yet, in the world of health and body knowledge, there's been a lot of noise about what it takes to clean and purify your temple.

Remember those foot-pads that were popular a few years ago? Stick them on your feet, walk around on them all day, and then take them off.

Look! All the toxins came out and they're there! See the stains on the pads! And then, the next week you wear your white socks all day and the same stains show up, sans foot-pads.

Despite all of the junk “knowledge” out on the internet and in the world today, there are actually some great techniques to detoxification you can use that will actually give you some results. And one of those is the use of essential oils.

Excellent Ways to Detox Using Essential Oils

The effects of Aromatherapy vary widely, but with the right combination of oils and a diffuser, you will find yourself either energized or completely relaxed and ready to rest.

An extremely important aspect of detoxification is sleep. If you are doing a cleanse, you're putting your body through the ringer.

Your kidneys are working overtime to filter that extra water and your mind is fatigued because you've been relying on so many artificial foods.

A lavender, labdanum, or chamomile oil might be the perfect thing to calm your mind before drifting off to restorative sleep.

You might feel fatigued during the day with whatever detoxification method you have chosen. Many people choose to wear their essential oils throughout the day.

But wearing your essential oils on the skin runs the risk of staining your clothes, or even an allergic reaction.

Jewelry Diffusers to the Rescue

And while there is nothing wrong with wearing essential oils on your skin (some might have positive effects through absorption), why not consider our essential oils jewelry as a safe and fashionable alternative to direct skin application?

What's more, you can be fashionable while you bring your essential oils along with you into your day.

Need some energy during your day because detox has you down? Why not grab some Thyme and Tangerine oils and place them in your diffuser necklace?

Outside of aromatherapy, you could add oils to your bath to help with joint inflammation from your tired day, or put a little bit of oil in your water bottle to aid with digestion.

That said, cold season is just around the corner. That's why we're going to use this post to focus on the best essential oils for detoxification.

1. Essential Oils for Detox: Peppermint Oil

Have you ever made a fresh pot of peppermint herbal tea, poured the hot water into your mug, and then just stood there with your nose over the cup inhaling the wonderfully sweet, invigorating scent?

Imagine taking this scent with you wherever you go.

For thousands of years, herbalists used peppermint to boost cognitive function. You can also use it when under the spell of a nasty cold as it aids in respiration and digestion.

Even some breastfeeding mothers have reported that peppermint oil reduces the tenderness of their nipples.

2. Essential Oils for Detox: Lemon Oil

lemon-essential-oil-for-detoxDid your grandma make you a hot toddy when you were a kid and then, as she poured a drop of whiskey in, not to tell your mom?

The whiskey in a hot toddy is only meant to make you feel the pain of your cold a little less, but it's the honey and lemon in the hot toddy that's of greatest benefit, as the honey coats your throat and the lemon boosts your immunity.

As with the lemon in a hot toddy, so the lemon oil in your diffuser aids in your immunity with added benefit of making you smell lemony fresh.

And when added to your drinking water, it can benefit your health every day.

3. Essential Oils for Detox: Grapefruit

Grapefruit, like lemon, is another common citrus smell. It reminds me of freshly waxed floors, summertime mate infusions, and candy shops.

But in cleansing the body, it acts a diuretic, helping flush away all those nasty toxins in your blood.

4. Essential Oils for Detox: Laurel Oil

Remember what I said about your body being a temple? Well, coincidentally, the greeks believed that those doused with Laurel oil would be showered with the gifts of divination and prophecy.

I can't speak to the spiritual when it comes to Laurel oil, but I can speak to its possible use as a diuretic, expectorant, and carminative (reducing flatulence).

5. Essential Oils for Detox: Lavender Oil

Just the thought of strolling through flowing fields of royal purple flowers on lean green stalks instills peace in my mind.

If you've ever been to a lavender farm, you know this wonderful sensation.

Lavender oil itself has several wonderful attributed qualities.

Mix lavender oil with Epsom salt in a hot bath and soak yourself calm. Many say lavender removes exhausted nervousness, increases mental activity and helps with pain relief.

Place some lavender oil in one of our AromaRain Active Wear Diffuser Bracelets before you go to bed, and you'll sleep like a queen lounging in her high palace.

However you use essential oils, it's always a good idea to do some research and make sure you're using the right oils for the right occasions.

This blog post, of course, isn't an exhaustive list of oils you can use to aid in detoxification, but our diffusers will bring ease and simplicity to your process.

Essential Oils Recipes to Nourish Beautiful Hair

Essential Oils for Beautiful Hair

Did you know that essential oils can be used to promote healthy hair growth? Beautiful, nourished hair can come naturally, and we're sharing the recipes here.

Is your hair dull and lifeless? Does it need some shine, some pizzazz, some love? Do you wish there was a safe and natural way to nourish your hair so that it looks beautiful, healthy, and salon treated?

Whether you have brittle hair, oily hair, too many flakes or you just want a little something extra, essential oils are the safest, easiest and most affordable way to heal and strengthen your hair. While promoting healthy hair growth, essential oils nourish hair to create a natural, healthy shine.

Bad hair

And after all we put it through, our hair just may need it.

The damage our hair takes on a daily basis can be catastrophic. The sun bakes it, perms, coloring and treatments damage it, blow-drying and over brushing snap it, and then we go home and use product after product.

The Evils of Conventional Hair Products

Go ahead and take a look at the label of your shampoos, conditioners, and other hair care products in your bathroom. Do you know what they are? Can you even pronounce them? Chances are some of these strange chemicals are stripping your hair of its natural beauty.

Take Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) for instance. Hair transplant surgeon Dr. Robert Dorin has said that this product breaks down hair proteins and disrupts healthy hair growth. Polyethylene Glycol, or sometimes called Polyethelyne or Polyoxyethylene, can strip skin and hair of moisture, while parabens, he says, is a common ingredient used to prolong the shelf life of products. This not only affects your skin but can disrupt your hormones.

After all the chemicals we put in our hair, and after all the damage from our environment, it's no wonder flat, listless, dry and damaged hair is a reality for so many of us.

Why Essential Oil Recipes Can Heal Your Hair

essential oils for hair growthEssential oils can be used to uplift a mood, soothe a headache, or even boost the immune system. Their natural constituents easily work within our bodies to affect a healthy and real change, free of any side effects. It isn't magic, its science.

In plants, essential oils help to distribute the nutrition that plants need, while carrying waste away. Dr. David Stewart, Ph.D., D.N.M., an aromatherapy practitioner, says that in the human body, essential oils do the same thing. They bring in oxygen where it's needed while getting rid of heavy metals, petrochemicals, and other toxins. They can help regulate our body functions and assist absorption of nutrients. Essential oils are complex lipid compounds from plants that can aid in healing and help your body get back to homeostasis.

When used on hair, essential oils soothe damaged cells and nourish not only the strand itself but the hair follicle and scalp too.

Choosing Oils for Your Essential Oil Recipes

Once you have chosen to use essential oils, and you've found a reputable company that sells pure essential oils, and not fragrance or perfume oils, you have some choices to make. While some oils can battle many hair issues, there are some that are condition specific.

How to Use Essential Oils on Hair

1) Oil Treatment

The easiest way to use essential oils on your hair is to make an oil treatment. Apply it hot or cool directly to your hair, and leave it in for at least 20 minutes. Once ready, you can wash it out with shampoo.

Essential Oil Blend For HairDo this once a week for best results. After one application, you should see a difference. After three, your friends will be asking which salon you went to.

For this easy to make recipe, you need to first choose a carrier oil. You can find a great selection here on Amazon. There are many on the market that will greatly benefit your hair on their own.  Olive, almond, avocado, jojoba and safflower oils are all wonderful to use, and will mix well with your essential oils.

Use this mix:

  • 1 ounce of carrier oil
  • 3-5 drops of each essential oil, using 2-3 different oils.

This is for short hair. Double this mix for hair longer than shoulder length.

For example:

Essential Oil Recipes For Dry Hair:

  • 1 ounce Almond Oil
  • 3-5 drops of Rosemary Essential Oil
  • 3-5 drop of Lavender Essential Oil
  • 3-5 drops of Sandalwood Essential Oil

Essential Oil Recipes For Normal Hair Needing Some Shine:

  • 1 ounce Jojoba Oil
  • 3-5 drops of Lemon Essential Oil
  • 3-5 drops of Geranium Essential Oil
  • 3-5 drops of Chamomile Essential Oil

Essential Oil Recipes For Hair Growth and to Prevent Graying:

  • 1 ounce Olive Oil
  • 3-5 drops of Vetiver Essential Oil
  • 3-5 drops of Peppermint Essential Oil
  • 3-5 drops of Clary Sage Essential Oil

2) Shampoo

Another great way to get those essential oils in your hair is to shampoo it in. You can add the oils directly into the shampoo you normally use, using the same amount of shampoo in place of the carrier oil in the mix. Or, you can make your own natural and safe shampoo.

DIY Shampoo Recipe:

  • 1/4 cup Liquid Castile Soap
  • 1/4 cup water or Coconut milk
  • 1/2 tsp. carrier oil, such as Olive Oil or Almond Oil
  • 15-20 drops total of your chosen essential oils

3) Conditioner

Adding essential oils to your conditioner is another great way to use essential oils. Using your own conditioner is fine, but if you are adventurous, you can make your own too.

4) Dry Shampoo

Dry shampoos are actually dry powder combinations that are massaged into hair, avoiding the scalp as much as possible. The idea is that the hair will absorb the nutrients it needs, and the rest will fall out with a good brushing.

Basic Dry Shampoo Recipe:

  • 1/2 cup Arrowroot Powder, Baking Soda or Cornstarch
  • 1/4 Cocoa Powder
  • 10 drops total of your chosen essential oils

Using these simple and quick techniques with essential oils will get your hair back to a shiny, healthy and beautifully nourished state, and have you smelling wonderful too!

Rocky Mountain Oils Review

Rocky Mountain Oils Review

Rocky Mountain Oils also known as RMO (previously, Native American Nutritionals) was created in 2004 by a collection of enthusiasts who were determined to develop essential oils that were pure and safe to use for the entire family.

We know many of you already have your favorite essential oil company and we didn't create this Rocky Mountain Oils review to start conflicts but rather to just let you know why we recommend them.

In our business we use essential oils everyday for our home, kids and personal health and body support.  We have a huge collection of essential oils from many leading essential oil companies including Young Living, doTERRA and many others.  We found the essential oils from these companies work very well but are also some of the highest priced even if you are a distributor getting the wholesale pricing.  Our goal was to find a company that offered essential oils that are of equivalent or better quality for a lesser price without having to join a multi-level marketing company to get all the benefits.. and then we found RMO.

Why Use Rocky Mountain Oils?

Immune Strength Essential OilWe are very cautious every time we buy essential oils from a different company as we take our families health very serious and many essential oils we take internally.  With Rocky Mountain Oils we had this same concern until we experienced some of their most popular essential oils such as Immune Strength which is a great alternative to Young Living's Thieves and doTERRA's On-Guard oil blends but at a cheaper price as well as Peppermint, Wintergreen, Lemon and many others.

If you're looking for alternative essential oil blends for Young Living or doTERRA essential oils, you can visit this page on Rocky Mountain's websites that shows you their version.

We were very impressed to find out that with every bottle of Rocky Mountain's essential oils you get free GC/MS test results by simply putting the batch number on the bottom of the bottle into their website on this page.  As far as we know, Rocky Mountain Oils is the first to offer customers the test results to prove the oils purity.

Here is some great information that comes directly from their website:

Simply stated, RMO has innovated and implemented a process of quality unlike any other essential oil purveyor. RMO’s commitment to deliver high-quality products is rooted in our S.A.A.F.E. Promise™ and backed by a 100% Guaranteed Satisfaction of Quality.

As part of RMO’s commitment to quality, the company provides GC/MS test results from a verified third-party, independent lab on all single essential oils. GC/MS tests verify purity and quality of the oils sold so customers can be sure they’re using the highest quality oils available on the market today. Customers can look at the bottom of their bottle to find their individual batch code and then input that number into our website to pull up the GC/MS test results.

So far, we gave you 3 reasons why we chose RMO's: No multi-level marketing,  a great selection with alternatives to other companies and free test results to back up the purity of their essential oils.

Here are some other great reasons why we chose Rocky Mountain Oils:

  • 90 day no-hassle returns even if opened and used
